Prevention

Proper prevention is the foundation of long-term health

What is prevention?

Our preventive program is focused on maintaining the health of your teeth and gums. The most common gum diseases are gingivitis and periodontitis. Gingivitis is characterized by redness and bleeding of the gums. If left untreated, it may progress to periodontitis, which involves bone loss around the teeth and the formation of pockets.
To prevent the need for more serious procedures, we recommend regular preventive check-ups and cleaning of tartar and plaque at least twice a year. We take responsibility for reminding you about these visits.

Good hygiene

Good hygiene is extremely important, especially if you have dental implants. The time we dedicate to cleaning, the techniques we use, the completion of periodontal charts, and training in modern methods for home care of the teeth and gums ensure excellent long-term results and a bright smile.
We will recommend the most suitable toothbrushes and toothpastes, dental floss, oral irrigators, and other oral hygiene products for you.

Treatment of periodontal diseases

In cases of periodontal problems related to bone loss and the formation of bone pockets, frequent deep cleanings are necessary. Treatment with a laser and special instruments helps stop the progression of the process. Our specialists will diagnose the problem and offer the most appropriate treatment for this common condition.

Steps in performing preventive care

Healthy teeth and gums through regular and precise prevention

1. Discussion and medical history

We will discuss any possible concerns you may have and the personal oral hygiene methods you are currently using. Together, we will complete a medical history form in order to become familiar with your general medical condition. If necessary, we will take additional X-rays to clarify and monitor your condition.

2. Complete photographic documentation

We will document the current condition of your teeth and gums with photographs before the cleaning, for better monitoring of progress in the future.

3. Local anaesthesia

We will apply a local anaesthetic to your gums to prevent sensitivity during the cleaning.

4. Ultrasonic cleaning

The first part of the cleaning is performed with ultrasound to remove tartar below and above the gumline.

5. Air polishing

The second part of the cleaning is polishing the teeth with a special powder to remove stains.

6. Final polishing

Finally, we polish with paste and a soft brush to achieve smooth tooth surfaces and fresh breath.

7. Completion of a periodontal chart

During the different stages of the cleaning, we will complete a periodontal chart. In it, we record the amount of dental plaque, gum bleeding, tooth mobility, and measure the pockets at 6 points around each tooth. This detailed information allows us to analyse and compare your condition every 6 months, so that we can make the most appropriate decision for the treatment and maintenance of your gums.

8. Training in proper oral hygiene

At the end of your preventive visit, we will train you in proper oral hygiene, with a focus on your individual maintenance needs. We will recommend specific hygiene products that are suitable for you, and we will also provide written and verbal instructions. Together, we will determine how often it is best for you to have preventive care.

Quality guarantee

We provide an official 3-year guarantee for the restorations performed by us, with the goal that they remain in the mouth for a lifetime. We sign a contract for the performance of dental services, which serves as an additional guarantee of service quality. The price does not change during the course of treatment, even if additional procedures arise; they are at our expense.

Преди профилактика

BEFORE: A patient with pronounced accumulation of tartar and soft dental plaque, as a result of insufficient and inconsistent oral hygiene.
Clinically, deposits were observed on the tooth surfaces and in the cervical area, creating conditions for gum inflammation and the development of periodontal problems.

След профилактика

AFTER: Professional removal of tartar and plaque was performed with ultrasound, followed by precise polishing of the tooth surfaces.
As a result, a significant improvement in the state of oral hygiene was achieved — the tooth surfaces are smooth and clean, and the gums are visibly calmer.
Professional removal of tartar and plaque is a fundamental preventive procedure that plays a key role in maintaining healthy teeth and gums, as well as in the prevention of gingivitis and periodontal diseases. Performing it regularly is an important part of long-term oral health care.

Your first visit

Treatment with us begins with a consultation, because proper diagnosis and case planning are the foundation of successful treatment. The consultation lasts approximately 90 minutes and is carried out by Dr. Voev and Dr. Mircheva, the chief doctors of the clinic. The consultation fee is 150 euros.

Contact us

Will it hurt?

Every procedure with us is performed under anesthesia in order to ensure a comfortable experience for the patient.

Do we work with supplementary health funds?

Yes, we work with supplementary health funds. We issue all necessary documents, such as invoices, medical reports, and others required by the funds. In addition, we work with health funds abroad, providing the same level of documentation and service.

Do we work with the national health insurance fund?

The national health insurance fund limits dentists to working only with amalgam and chemical polymer materials (i.e., materials that do not allow for high-quality tooth restoration), and also determines the time allocated for each procedure. We do not work with the national health insurance fund because we maintain high standards of work, and high-quality reconstruction of a tooth sometimes takes 90 minutes.

What payment methods are available?

With us, you have several convenient payment options. We accept cash payments, credit and debit cards, as well as bank transfers. This allows you to choose the most convenient payment method for you.

Do we take X-rays?

Yes, in our clinic we take X-rays – of individual teeth, as well as those that diagnose early-stage caries between teeth.

Can we issue invoices?

Yes, we issue invoices to both individuals and companies. Regardless of the type of client, we provide the necessary documentation for the performed services.

How often should a preventive check-up and tartar cleaning be done?

A preventive check-up should be carried out every 6 months for each person. Tartar cleaning depends on the individual problems of the patient and the rate of tartar accumulation. Therefore, cleaning can be done at intervals of 2, 4, 6, or 8 months.

Do we have our own parking?

Yes, the clinic has its own parking available for patients. The parking is located in the courtyard behind the clinic building.

Can a tooth not hurt and still have a problem?

Yes, very often a tooth can have a problem without causing pain. Our patients are often surprised to learn that they have dental problems despite not having experienced pain. Many oral conditions, including gum disease, bone loss beneath the gums (periodontitis), caries, even advanced caries reaching the nerve and requiring root canal treatment, as well as granulomas and cysts around the roots of teeth, can be asymptomatic. That is why it is important to have preventive check-ups every 6 months to prevent tooth loss and maintain good oral health.
