Root canal treatment

Healthy teeth without pain and infections

What is root canal treatment?

Deep caries, fractures, or traumatic bite can lead to inflammation of the dental pulp. When the nerve of the tooth is affected, treatment of the root canals is required.

Modern root canal treatment is performed with isolation of the tooth using a rubber dam and under a microscope. The use of a microscope provides direct visibility inside the tooth canals and increases the safety of the treatment. Only in this way can we guarantee that no infection remains in the roots of the tooth. In our clinic, we work with the highest-class Zeiss microscope and follow the most up-to-date working protocols, which ensure excellent results and the absence of residual infection in the devitalized tooth.

Leaving infection in the root canals is extremely dangerous and can lead to the formation of granulomas, cysts, bone resorption, and even tooth loss. Chronic infection can also damage various organs and systems, such as the heart, joints, and kidneys. Therefore, adequate treatment of the affected teeth is of essential importance.

A solution for healthy teeth without complications.

1. Consultation and assessment of the problem

After discussing your specific complaints, we will explain the best solution for your problem, the risks and possibilities for complete recovery, as well as the course and duration of the treatment.

2. Administration of local anesthesia

After administering local anesthesia and placing isolation (rubber dam), we will ensure access to the tooth nerve.

3. Removal of inflamed tissues and canal contents

This is followed by procedures for removing inflamed tissues inside the canals, old materials from previous root canal treatment, disinfection, and processing of the root canals.

4. Filling of the root canals

After achieving the desired shaping and sterility of the canals, we proceed with filling them using biocompatible materials that prevent the penetration of infection.

5. Placement of a temporary restoration

We place a temporary restoration while waiting for any possible sensitivity to subside, before proceeding with the permanent reconstruction of the tooth.

6. Radiographic monitoring of the healing process

We will take an X-ray of the treated tooth to monitor the healing process over time.

7. Instructions for follow-up care

We will provide you with detailed written and verbal instructions for post-operative care and maintaining good oral health.

Quality guarantee

We provide an official 3-year guarantee for the restorations fabricated by us, with the goal that they remain in the mouth for a lifetime. We sign a contract for the performance of dental services, which serves as an additional guarantee of service quality. The price does not change during treatment, even if additional procedures arise; they are at our expense.

BEFORE: A case of a 35-year-old female patient who visited the clinic for a preventive check-up. During the radiographic examination, the presence of a granuloma around the roots of a tooth treated approximately 10 years earlier was identified. It is important to note that the patient had no complaints related to this tooth and did not feel pain or discomfort.

Despite the absence of symptoms, we decided to undertake additional examinations and discussed the treatment options with the patient. After reviewing the risk of developing complications, a decision was made to carry out root canal treatment in order to prevent potential deterioration of the condition in the future.

The treatment was successful, and afterwards the patient was placed under observation.

След

AFTER: Two years after the treatment, a follow-up X-ray showed a reduction in the size of the granuloma, which indicates a healing process and the success of the performed treatment. The patient is satisfied with the results and continues to be under observation.

BEFORE: A case of a 50-year-old female patient who complained of a tooth treated more than 15 years earlier. The patient reported that for two weeks she had been experiencing sensitivity and pulsation in the area of the tooth, and in the last few days she had also noticed swelling of the gum around it, accompanied by severe pain.

Upon taking an X-ray, we identified inadequate old root canal treatment, as well as the presence of changes in the bone around the roots of the tooth. Based on the findings, we undertook root canal treatment, which was carried out over two visits. After the first visit, the patient’s pain disappeared and her condition improved significantly.

AFTER: The follow-up X-ray was taken after 6 months in order to assess the condition of the granuloma and monitor the healing process. The patient remained satisfied with the care and professionalism demonstrated during the treatment.

Contact us

Will it hurt?

Every procedure with us is performed under anesthesia in order to ensure a comfortable experience for the patient.

Do we work with supplementary health funds?

Yes, we work with supplementary health funds. We issue all necessary documents, such as invoices, medical reports, and others required by the funds. In addition, we work with health funds abroad, providing the same level of documentation and service.

Do we work with the national health insurance fund?

The national health insurance fund limits dentists to working only with amalgam and chemical polymer materials (i.e., materials that do not allow for high-quality tooth restoration), and also determines the time allocated for each procedure. We do not work with the national health insurance fund because we maintain high standards of work, and high-quality reconstruction of a tooth sometimes takes 90 minutes.

What payment methods are available?

With us, you have several convenient payment options. We accept cash payments, credit and debit cards, as well as bank transfers. This allows you to choose the most convenient payment method for you.

Do we take X-rays?

Yes, in our clinic we take X-rays – of individual teeth, as well as those that diagnose early-stage caries between teeth.

Can we issue invoices?

Yes, we issue invoices to both individuals and companies. Regardless of the type of client, we provide the necessary documentation for the performed services.

How often should a preventive check-up and tartar cleaning be done?

A preventive check-up should be carried out every 6 months for each person. Tartar cleaning depends on the individual problems of the patient and the rate of tartar accumulation. Therefore, cleaning can be done at intervals of 2, 4, 6, or 8 months.

Do we have our own parking?

Yes, the clinic has its own parking available for patients. The parking is located in the courtyard behind the clinic building.

Can a tooth not hurt and still have a problem?

Yes, very often a tooth can have a problem without causing pain. Our patients are often surprised to learn that they have dental problems despite not having experienced pain. Many oral conditions, including gum disease, bone loss beneath the gums (periodontitis), caries, even advanced caries reaching the nerve and requiring root canal treatment, as well as granulomas and cysts around the roots of teeth, can be asymptomatic. That is why it is important to have preventive check-ups every 6 months to prevent tooth loss and maintain good oral health.
